🛡️ Lens hoods – protection & image quality in one

🌞 Function & Benefits

A lens hood is an accessory that attaches to the front of the lens. It prevents side light from entering the lens and causing unsightly reflections (“lens flare”) or loss of contrast.

It reduces stray light, improves contrast and at the same time protects the lens from scratches, bumps or fingerprints.

There are:

  • Round apertures for standard and telephoto lenses
  • Tulip or flower apertures for wide angles so that no corners are darkened
  • Metal or rubber versions depending on preference or weight
