Converter – more reach, more flexibility
🔧 Function & Types
A converter (also called a teleconverter or adapter) is an accessory that sits between the camera and the lens. Depending on the type, it extends the focal length, connects to a different mount, or changes the distance to the sensor (e.g., macro).
A teleconverter multiplies the focal length of your lens—for example, 100 mm becomes 200 mm with a 2x converter. This typically reduces the aperture (e.g., by 1–2 f-stops).
An adapter allows you to combine a lens and a camera with a different mount—for example, a Canon lens on a mirrorless camera. There are simple mechanical adapters and those with electronic signal transmission.
📌 Compatibility & Limitations
No – the mounts and distances (flange focal distance) must be exactly right. Adapters for, for example, M42, Nikon F, or Canon FD often only work manually. If you have any questions about the fit, please feel free to contact us:

With simple adapters, autofocus, aperture control, and image stabilization are lost. Exposure and focusing are then performed manually.
Yes—especially with teleconverters. Good models largely preserve optical quality, while simple models can lead to image distortions.
🧠 Tips for use
Extension tubes increase the distance between the lens and the sensor, shortening the minimum focusing distance. Ideal for macro shots with a standard lens.
Carefully place the adapter onto the camera and lens, without using excessive force. Some adapters require a release pin or are guided by markings.
